No. You will need to take the placement exam at UCR. Hopefully, you will test out of the requirement. Granted, if you have an IGETC, then you will have met your breadth.

When I asked, technically yes, you may take summer classes (example summer 2021) but it will not be covered by financial aid. It is an out of pocket cost

You may find out who your advisor is by going to chassstudentaffairs.ucr.edu and clicking on 'Advisors, Majors, and Minors. Click on the down arrow and it will give you the information about each major.

Hi Sujay, I'm not sure of the deadline for the acceptance letter. I suspect there will be an email this year. You were correct in reaching out to Admissions via email and by phone. What major are you?

It depends on how many units you will get for the foreign language when they review your transcript

If you have a BA, then you need 4th quarter level and if you have a BS, then you need the 3rd quarter level. Your acad. adv should be able to help you with that.

Hello! (1) I am transferring fall 2021, however would like to take classes in the summer at my community college. Since we aren’t able to speak to our academic advisors until after orientation, how can I figure out what classes will count toward my major requirements (equate to UCR requirements) since the course names vary? (2) I got accepted into the B.A. Sociology major. How can I switch to a B.S.?

Gabrielle, my daughter is out of state transfer student, she got accepted for fall 2021 psychology major. We did receive an email on April 16th 2021. But not a physical letter by mail? So was curious to understand. She is at work and wanted me to follow up.

Chelsea - all of the major requirements and articulation agreements are available at www.assist.org. You should be able to discuss with your CC counselor the courses at your current institution that will transfer to UCR.

In regard to changing from a BA to a BS you may request this in the Fall with your Academic Advisor.
